"good morning maryland" i'm charlie crowson. >> and i'm megan pringle. thank you for joining us. maybe you have the day off yesterday and got excited to see something falling from the sky. but it turned out to be not so pretty. >> it was nasty. mike it was nasty. out there. you were here until almost 5:00 last night. >> it was like it wouldn't end and it wouldn't turn over to rain. i mean just an interesting storm and we had a lot of sleet to the north. but the good news is today a drier day and a windy day though. temperatures this morning 41 in the stay and 37 at the airport and annapolis at 38. it's pretty cool most of the readings near the freezing mark. well to the north and to the west. notice the winds pretty busy now out of the northerly direction between 10 to 15. if that reason we have a high wind advisory through the course the day. so while it's a cloudy sky we're at 36 to 37 around the lunchtime here. we're near flirt with 40 for most of the day today but again the windchill factors feeling like it's into the 20s. there's the first

's christmas eve morning. i am megan pringle. charley has the day off but lynette charles is here and a lot of people are heading out to the malls or somewhere downtown in the community and they want to know how warm do they have to dress? >> and i am one of those people i hate to say. we all need to bundle up this morning. the temperatures are cold. and i say bundle up because once you get to the mall you will want to take off the coat when you roll up your sleeves to do the last-minute shopping. 30 in glenelg millersville at 27 and pylesville at 29. and as we check out maryland's most powerful radar, we are dry for right now. i have all five sweeps on and we are scanning the skies. throughout the day we will have light rain push in and we could see snow mainly off toward the north and west. so this is how to plan your day accordingly. we have the planner here and temperatures by 8:00 coming in at 31. and still dry as we go into the lunchtime it's quite brisk out there. 39 degrees the high temperature for today is 40 degrees. and coming in below average because we should be at 43 degrees f

's. although the -- although the fog is bag in some areas it's dense patchy fog across the area. noid the widespread like -- it's not widespread like yesterday but you need to take it easy put a lot of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. and have the low beams on n terms of wet weather, we are not seeing it. yesterday morning, we got the rain even this morning we had the rain and things are diminishing. we only will scan the skies for today and once again, temperatures are going to be above average. we are looking at upper 40s in elkton to bel air. let's check the traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. as you mentioned, we are dealing with areas of dense fog so be careful. t
. >>> good wednesday morning, i'm megan pringle. >> i'm charley crowson. here are a few of your top stories today. a police officer is involved in a deadly shooting in carroll county. police say they were called to tawnytown for a report of a man smashing the windows of a truck with a hammer. when they arrived, they asked the man to put the hammer down, but they kept walking toward him. that's when one officer fired, reportedly hitting the man. he's been identified as 26-year- old edward becker. >>> in glen burnie a man is dead. he was shot while break breaking into a business. he broke into the arundel coin shop on sunday morning. he was fighting with an quee and that's when he was shot. medics pronounced him dead at the scene. that case still under investigation. >>> time for a check of the forecast. things could get messy out there, here's meteorologist mike masso. >> notice on maryland's most powerful radar showing the flurries developing from annapolis, all of anne arundel county down towards buoy and this is pushing to the north, right along i-95 during the course of your day today.

at barnes & noble. >>> good thursday morning, i'm megan pringle. >> and i'm charlie crowson. the mother accused of killing her 2-year-old son is out of the hospital and now in police custody. nicole fitzgerald faces a number of charges including first and second degree murder as well as child abuse. last sunday police found her son with a stab wound to the neck. fitzgerald was taken to the hospital and treated for cuts to her own neck. her hearing is scheduled for next month. >>> a man the dead this morning after a fire broke out in his ohm. it was out on sweet air road in jacksonville actually the baldwin area earlier this morning. no fire hydrants near the and the water was shuttled in. the fire is still being investigated and we'll keep you posted. >>> things there are changing outside lynette. >> it is cold out there this morning charlie but look at all the sunshine we're receiving the morning. and in annapolis a beautiful sunrise. you can see over the severn river and we are going to continue with some cold temperatures. 33 degrees right now. those winds out of the north at about 1

morning i am megan pringle. police are searching for the person who shot an off-duty police officer in overlea near dale and kenwood avenues. police say the officer was driving just after 3 on sunday morning when he came across a large group blocking the road e stopped and asked somebody to move so he could get through and that's when a man came out of the group and fired several shots into the officer's car. the officer was shot twice and his name has not been released. county police want to hear from you if you have information here's the number to call. 410-307-2020. >>> and a 19-year-old is recovering afterring shot in middle river. teen was shot in the 100 block of kingston road not far from eastern avenue and martin boulvard. baltimore county police are not releasing information right now about a possible shooter. police say that the victim is expected to survive. time for a check on your weather with meteorologist lynette charles. >> all right. we are talking about a dense fog advisory until 9. you can see why. look at manchester right now. plenty of fog across the area. and
